"Vida, a powerful samodiva, a female nymph, of the Pirin mountains, accidentally shot and killed the beautiful male singer, Ivë. When she saw what she had done, she cried a single tear, which formed an enchanted lake." - Myth of Vida's Tear Lake
Magus Lucca
Description
Lucca is a tall, broad shouldered fellow, with strong roman features and a dark olive complexion. Many years at his craft have gifted him strong arms and a barrelled chest, however this natural bulk has made him both slow and meticulous in his movements. When not in council meetings or travelling abroad he tends to wear the simple garb of a workman.
Personality
Sociable and good natured would best describe Lucca's demeanour, while underneath a quiet ambition burns away.
His past experiences have goaded him into the desire to gain respect within his house and prove his unconventional ways are no restriction on his talent. This ambition falls by the wayside when compared to the love for his mundane daughter Anna. He also seems to show the covenfolk and mundanes in general more respect than is usual for someone of his station, perhaps a lasting outcome from his marraige to a member of the covenfolk.
Magic
Lucca's magic is strongly aligned to the forces of change, to the extent that the limit of his magic is extended during Spring and Autumn, seasons both closely linked to natural change. His gift manifests itself as a manipulating force, those not protected by the parma magica will feel that they are being used as tools or raw material, and that Lucca is only trying to ascertain how they're best to be used for his own ends.
His sigil can be identified by a subtle unnatural change to the target of his spells, so a conjured gold nugget might have a multicoloured sheen over it or an unusual abstract form. A horse healed may have the area touched by his hand turned to a different colour. Like all Verditus Lucca requires casting aids to use formulaic magics, his take the form of two flat metal disks with unusual measurements running around their circumference.
Current views on the other magi
- Maga Mestitia
- While her appearance is enough to shock the stoutest heart, I have only good words for thisunusual Meriniton. She is practically minded, open to cooperation and discussion. I hope my first impressions continue to be true as I get to know her better.
- Magus Gelidus
- I have had little chance to interact with our Flambeau; he seems keen to keep to himself, as is his right. Though from what I hear he is more than able to handle himself, dispatching several of the local malevolent spirits. If he is indeed as fearsome as he appears, we will be in good stead should the covenant be attacked.
- Magus Laertes
- I've spent a reasonable amount of time in the company of this Bulgarian Tremere.
He is a 'Mago Negrormante' as it is named in my native tongue, one skilled in the arts of controlling the dead. Given my feelings on such matters I will steer clear of involvement in this area.
Apart from this he seems honestly focused on developing the covenant and wishes to see us succeed. However I believe he has clear idea's of what he wants to accomplish here and will be most put out if those goals are challenged. I wonder how long it will be before he clashes with our elder Tytalus over the perceived leadership of the covenant.
- Magus Loquellamedes
- I have spent some time in the company of this quiet magus, and it is fair to say that I know him little better now than when we first met. He is a likable fellow and not as I imagined someone of his race would be. One thing I have learnt is that he is a practical man, not weighted down by pride, he was even willing to assist me in the extraction of Vis to ensure the covenant could cast an Aegis.
- Maga Ioanna
- I have mixed feelings about this Tytalus, She seems reasonable and is honestly interested in seeing this covenant prosper again; however she is clearly the self imposed leader here, and it has not escaped my notice that I have already received some favouritism from her. I will wait to see what the unspoken price of this will be, and if I'm willing to pay it.
- Magus Hristo
- I have had limited contact with Hristo, It is clear that he sees us a necessary disturbance and would probably rather we weren't required. While I would be interested in learning more about him and perhaps his thoughts on transformations and the limits of essential nature, I suspect his solitary nature may make this all but impossible.
